Was it the 'bee' information you were looking for or other ancestors?

This is more like it. The article says that he was from Auchencrow, Berwickshire. That is near Coldingham.

I'm not sure what information you are looking for.

David Bonner and Elizabeth Mckillop had a son, James, baptised Coldingham, 5 August 1770.

Snippets with reference to 'Bonnar' here but not sure if this would be your James.

Another snippet from The Farmer's Magazine volume 3. It is a google book. If you click on the book a search this book will be seen on the left hand side of the page.
There are others that I haven't accessed. I put 'books on bees Bonnar in the google search and several appeared.
However this may not be your James!

Inverness / Re: Peter McKinnon b c 1770 in Strath

On Scotland's People it seems that Strath only has births and marriages between these dates.

119. STRATH
119/1 BIRTHS 1815-54 M 1823-54 D -

Not sure why Robert and Elizabeth Smith's records aren't showing as, if they were born in Inverness, the Inverness records are there for their baptism dates. Perhaps they belonged to a non-conformist church or weren't baptised.
This is the link to the Old Parish Records. It's a useful guide to look up the availability of records.

Someone on Ancestry seems to have dates etc but you have to pay to access these details.

Have you contacted the owners of the property to see if they have any before/after photos?

Have you accessed her birth record in the Old Parish Registers yet? Sometimes that gives a clue as to where a place may have been.
Where did the family stay in 1861?

Hello Weenie,
Just to add to your notes: There was a marriage between William Dobson and Mary Alderson in York on 1 May 1853. William was aged 50, widowed, born 1803 and his father was John Dobson.
Mary Alderston nee Rutlidge, age 45, also widowed, born 1808, father was Thomas Rutlidge.
Hope this might help you to move on.
Rae
