Hi

Thank you very much for the lookup, very much appreciated. That's perfect, just what I wanted to here - Ann was from Burbage which means I have the correct marriage.

Hi

I would be very grateful for a look up of the baptism for John Holman who was baptized 7.12.1823 at Burbage, son of John Holman and Ann. I am wondering if there is any more information to be had.

I am hoping to tie this baptism up with the marriage lookup at St Mary's, Leicester on another post.

With thanks

Criggy

Thank you Andy and Ken for your valuable information. It is lovely to have more news about this family after such a long wait.

For some reason I hadn't even considered that Ann might be a widow when she married Edward!

Edward is found in 1841 in Cork but I've only the bare details of this as the census would appear to be missing. He is still a Colour Sergeant in the 97th regiment, service no. 506.

Andy - Yes, Eliza's mother's maiden name was Knight and Samuel was her brother. I would love to swop information on the siblings etc. If you send me a personal message with an e-mail address I would be only too pleased to share information with you.

Hi

The information was recieved by an e-mail friend at that time. Unfortunately I have cannot find the e-mail attached to this item. I do remember though that she ordered the Holy Trinity marriage fiche from the Mormon Church (family history) at one time and also checked out various fiche at one of the Hull local libraries.

If you are local to Hull then your best bet would be to give one of the libraries a ring to see what BMD fiche they possess.

Hi

John Smith's father was Thomas Smith. He married Elizabeth Hartley 23.10.1859 at Addingham. They had 7 children, George Watkinson, Fred, Tom, Annie, John, Edith and Alice all born at Addingham. Thomas died 2.12.1873 at Addingham of Tuberculosis and Elizabeth then married Henry Taylor, her 2nd cousin.

Thomas was bp 21.8.1837 at Carlton in Craven, the son of Thomas Smith and Alice nee Brown. They married at Carlton 2.3.1824. They had 8 children, George, Elizabeth, Margaret, John Brown, Thomas, William, Mary Alice and Eliza, all baptized at Carlton. After the death of Alice in 1846 Thomas married Mary Atkinson (nee Potts) 31.7.1853 at Addingham.

Thomas was bp 13.11.1803 at Carlton in Craven, the son of George Smith and Alice nee Seed. George and Alice married 11.8.1796 at Holy Trinity Church, Skipton. George was of Bell Busk, Kirby Malham and Alice was of Skipton. They had 5 children, Nancy (Anne), Margaret, Thomas, Alice and Susannah (Susan) all baptized at Carlton in Craven.

Did you manage to take any photographs of the gravestones by any chance?

With regards

Hi Hari

Nice to hear from you. It would be lovely to swop information as I have now accumulated quite a bit of information on this side of the family.

John Smith of Addingham, then Blackpool and St Anne's, was my husband's grandfather. His mother was Joan Smith, the youngest child of John Smith and his second wife Christiana Harrison (nee Thackwray). John's first wife was Annie (nee Wilkinson) of Addingham and their children were Janet, Tom, Joe, Bill, Marjorie and Ethel. Christiana also had children with her first husband.

How are you related to this family?

Regards
