It says you are a Rootschat Pioneer so I thought you would be able to click on a member's name and send a personal message. I will look out for it as I assume you have information to share as I am unaware of a connection. :)

For anyone interested, we are currently researching the Price boat family in the Facebook group "Wolverhampton & Beyond Family and Social History". Everyone is welcome.

Can anyone confirm there was munitions type work undertaken in Church Road in World War 2? It was supposedly at the side of Church Road Motors and employed a few women.

Looks like in 1881 he is still in Leith with parents and 8 siblings. 1891 he was living in Glasgow Barony with his parents and siblings, Henry, Thomas and William. Without checking all the family in censuses after the 1901 England one it is hard to know if he went back to live with any of them.

Yes thank you. There are a lot fewer Salters than Slaters but have not found one to fit so far.

Yes he was Salter not Slater. Typo error.

Thank you. We are trying locally first as Scotlandspeople is a subscription site. I do already have an account with Scotlandspeople. There are a lot of records for George Salters on the site so trying to find out if he could have possibly stayed in Staffordshire.

Staffordshire / George Edward Salter born 1874

I am trying to find out what happened to George Edward Salter. Although he was born in Leith, Scotland he married Florence Griffiths in Bilston, Wolverhampton, Staffordshire in 1900. Sadly Florence died in childbirth in 1903 and the surviving baby, also named George Edward Salter, was placed in the Cottage Homes in Wednesfield, Wolverhampton, Staffordshire. The records for George junior are known but no one has been able to find out what happened to George senior after 1903. I am trying to help someone find out what happened to him as he was her great grandfather. Last known address is 1901 in Greencroft, Bilston.
