Canada Lookup Request / Re: looking for a soldier in CEF
« on: Saturday 04 April 15 14:59 BST (UK)  »
Can anybody suggest how to find a relative,
Joseph Osbaldiston served in The CEF, born in England 1888, arrived in Newport Vermont 28th Nov. 1921, his wife in England later remarried so I'm wondering if he divorced in Canada, and he must have died there. He signed on the CEF on 1st nov 1915 in Ottawa
any help would be appreciated;
Thanks SC

Hi

I am looking for Ewan MacAulay (or similar spellings) found in WHYTE, DONALD. A Dictionary of Scottish Emigrants to Canada before Confederation. Toronto: Ontario Genealogical Society. Volume 1, 1986. 443p.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Cheers
Reg

Ross & Cromarty / MacAuley, MacAulay, McAulay to Lambton County, Ontario, Canada

My ggg-grandfather was Ewan MacAuley from Moray. He was born in 1833 at Cromdale and Inverallan And Advie, Inverness. He married Mary Smith (b.1826) in 1857 in Nethy Bridge. They immigrated to Canada in around 1860 (although I haven't found any sources to confirm) and settled in Lambton County, Ontario.

Does this sound familiar to anyone?
