Many thanks for the helpful replies and also apologies for the late reply. I have been in Germany and have just returned and didn't take my computer with me. I will look at the information given.

Once again, many thanks for the help given.

Hi Annette7

One reason is that someone on Ancestry has posted an actual date for the birth on their tree but they haven't supplied a reference point as to where they found that date. The date they have given is  24 Dec 1824 • Edinburgh Midlothian Scotland. I never accept dates without a reference point. If anything it would be a baptismal date but I can find no reference point between the dates 1800-1860 but that doesn't mean that there isn't one. I have found in the past that just because I can't find one, some kind individual might find one that I have overlooked.

Midlothian / Help Appreciated for Edinburgh Baptism

Is it possible for someone to look for the Birth/Baptism of Peter Riva the son of Peter Riva and Margaret Donegan. It would be c1824 in Edinburgh. The surname could be spelt as Riva: Reva and sometimes River. Could possibly be Roman Catholic.
Many Thanks
Alan

Hi Sandra
Looks like the right individual. My French is lousy. Had it been in German or Hebrew, I would understand it :-)

[quote ...Christine53 and I found 3 children, but you mention you are looking for 4, you listed Oliva twice. DB[/quote]

Thankyou. I didn't check the email before sending it  :o

The only other individual's details that I am looking for is Maria Merineau who appears on the 1881 census as a daughter of Amèdée Marineau & Anatalie Marineau c1880. Any thoughts on her.

Is anyone researching or have connections to the Merineau Family who lived in Quebec Canada?

Particularly looking for details of 4 of the children of Amadee Merinue [26/1/1847] and Natalie Catudal dite St Jean [8th Dec 1846]. I have a list of their 11 children but I am particularly interested in Amadee Merineau born c1867: Ovila Merineau c1874: Oliva Merineau c1878 and Oliva c1878.

Any help would be appreciated.

WOW. Thank you very much ALL of you for the information provided. I have always said that if I can't find something, then someone somewhere will be able to and I have proved that yet again. Once again a very BIG thank you one and all.
