It does seem that the National Archives have alot of information, but I have found it very difficult to use.

Yes Jorose you are quite right, he might have died in world war one or migrated and died overseas, and it seems very difficult to find a person that died overseas. Do you have any ideas about how to find a person that died somewhere in the world. I have also looked on CWGC and Ancestry for world war one casualties, but found nothing. Then even if he died in England, it is difficult to identify a person on a death certificate, when they do not put the birth date. He was never at his brothers wives funerals in 1925, and not at his brothers funerals in 1940īs either. The 1911 census is the last sign of him, where he worked as a baker and was a boarder. I have also looked on the 1939 register and donīt see anything that might be him either.
Thanks for your interest

Yes thats the one Frances, and John.
I have found Robert in the  Census even 1911, but that doīsnt help identifying him in the death records.

I cannot find the birth date and place,  on a death record for Robert Martin, and nothing on wills and probate. I know he was born in Smeeth,Kent, in 1872.
Of all the robert martinīs that died  between 1911 and 1972, how can I know which one of these death records might be  Robertīs.

Family History Beginners Board / Ancestry - "British Citizens that died overseas"
« on: Sunday 23 August 15 11:37 BST (UK)  »
I thought I would post this topic, as it might be interesting to some people.
I searched for a relative on Ancestry, and found no death record of him, and thought he probably left  England. He could not be found on  ships passenger list, going anywhere in the world.
I went in and out of Ancestry for two years, hoping and searching.
One day there was a record, on new record collections, British Citizens that died overseas, and there I found him. I wanted to review this collection again about a year later. The record collection was gone, and they said on Ancestry they never had it, and I must have found him on wills and probate or a family tree. Well if I did the record would still  be ther now wouldīnt it, and it isīnt. Now I need it to look for another relative, on British Citizens that died overseas.  I regret that I did not look for both relativeīs when I had the chance.
findmypast, donīt seem to have the record collection either Does anyone know where I might find the  record collection, British Citizens that died overseas.
