Im in the midst of digging! I know now that Freds father was John, he Married an Esther, this is all actual information for my family.  Johns fathers name was James, and I believe he married a Jane... this is where I am currently at! I have viewed a couple baptism records and census records! Marriage documents and called up my father and so far they are all accurate!!  ;D

This is what I have confirmed:

My Father ( Robert Woodcock)

John Woodcock/ Verna Woodcock (My dads parents)
 (Johns Siblings- James, Wilfred)

Fred & Maryann Woodcock were My grandpas parents (Johns parents)

John & Esther Woodcock were Freds parents so they would be Great Great Grandparents to me

James & Jane Woodcock these would be Johns parents.

Hello,
I am new to this so here it goes...
My Grandmother passed away about 15 years ago and took some precious information with her.  I always wanted to learn about my ancestors who lived in Manchester England, and know more about my family and how we came upon the name "Woodcock"    I have found some interesting information about the origination of the name "Woodcock" and that on our family crest it states "Gesta Praevenient Verbis”  Which stands for "Deeds will surpass words" I find this very interesting due to it suiting my family so well!   My fathers grandparents were Fred & Mary Ann Woodcock,  I believe they were born around 1880's, and migrated from Manchester  around 1910-1915.  My Grandfather was born in 1917, his name was John Arther Woodcock.  He had one older brother and one younger brother.  The eldest was Jim (James) Woodcock He was born in England I believe in 1903.  He married Florance Davidson.  The youngest brother was Wilfred Woodcock he was born in Canada around 1923-1924.  He first married Alva Green.  He then remarried to Elsie Neufeld.
I wondered if anyone knew of my Great Grandparents (Fred & Mary Ann) and had any information about where they lived and who their family was or anything significant about them.  I have searched and have not found much.  Thank you in advance for anything you can share with me!  :)
