Hi, I am a Liverpool Poulson and whilst I don't seem to have Ellen in my tree, it i definitely the same family as Liverpool was tiny then and they all seemed to be christened in the same church!
I have traced my direct line back to Christopher Poulson, born about 1735, married to Margaret Serjeant/Sergeant using ancestry.co.uk. If anyone can link in with my tree I'd love to hear from you!

Hello there,

I'm a Liverpool Poulson and I've recently been looking up my family tree...the furthest back I can get is Christopher Poulson (born about 1735), married to Margaret Serjeant/Sergeant. He was a sugar baker. His children were Christopher Poulson (1764-1820), Ann Poulson (1766-1779) and George Poulson (1771-1778). If anyone has any info that ties in with this tree I'd be most grateful to see it!

Thank you

Oh wow! I didn't think anyone would reply! Well I was reading a book recently about the Liverpool dialect and it was saying that there were a lot of Danish merchants in Liverpool in the early 19th century...the name is very very common with our spelling in Denmark and I would love to know if that's when it goes back to...from the last post it looks like there have been Poulsons in Liverpool for a long time!

Hi! I'm a Liverpool Poulson on my father's side. Does anybody know anything about the early 19th century Danish connection?
