Yorkshire (North Riding) / Parish records - Snainton, Brompton by Sawdon

Hi all

Looking to understand the parish records of Snainton and Brompton by Sawdon.  I have a Mary Baker daughter of John Baker born Jan 25, 1773 in the Snainton records and a Mary Baker, daughter of John Baker, Snainton, baptized Feb 21 1773 in the Brompton records.  Are these likely the same person?

Why are some of the Snainton record "born" and some "baptized"?

Thanks for any help,

Thanks Ladyhawk

That is indeed the right Day families - George Gill Day is my 3rd great-grandfather.

And, like Maddys52, I have looked at the children's baptisms and haven't found the mother's maiden name.

Looking for the maiden name of my 4th great-aunt Mary Day.  According to her gravestone in Richmond, Quebec, she was born May 18, 1842 in Langport, Somerset, UK. She married John Barrington Day (in Canada around 1863 we think but no proof) and first child was born in 1865 in Quebec. John Barrington Day was originally from Stoke St. Gregory but is found in the Canadian census of 1861 as a bachelor.

I can't find a record of their marriage or her maiden name but have most of the other relevant information about the family. Any help appreciated.

Thanks jorose - I was able to find the 1911 James Kizlik record in ancestry using the info you provided from automatedgenealogy.com - was indexed under Keylak.  That gives me hope - I will continue looking for Alex.

Thanks dbree

I have a copy of  "They Stopped at a Good Place" but I had never seen the other book.  And I did not know they were online anywhere so this is  a great resource for me.  Much appreciated.

Thanks for all the help.

Gadget - don't think that is a match - religion would be Greek Catholic and they weren't married until 1910 so no children before then.

Also - I have found many of these ancestors in other databases - but no luck with the 1911 census.
