My mum says that she remembers Halliwell's visiting her grandparents, would have been around 1940. She thinks they were relatives rather than friends. They also appear on my grandparents' wedding seating plan.

Any ideas?

Dear All
I have also recently returned to this part of my tree like a dog to a bone. Ive not found anything new recently but there are several other possible newspaper articles, none of them complimentary about Margery and Thomas Oliver. His medical records from the asylum are also on-line

Horn castle area sounds promising.  My NIDD family from Creeton/Horncastle seemed to use FREER and its variations as a middle name. Could there be a link between our families?

Revisiting my Pendlebury connection with a new but related query.

My GGGrandfather William Royle lived in Pendlebury/Swinton in the late 19th century.  A while ago I posted a pic of his daughters on a bench on Pendlebury station on this thread.
Anyway he was a publican, on a baptism he gives his address as Hall Street.  Would this be the same or different to Swinton Hall road?  He also lived off Bolton Road and in Station rd.  The old pubs of Salford mentions the Spinners pub where ACMe mill workers used to drink, also known as the stinking stocking.

Might any of these be connected or is it all wishful thinking

thanks
