Thank you for your suggestions. There appears to have been some boundary changes and I am concentrating my research on a house named "Orsedd" in Penmynydd.

Thank you for your suggestions. I have been in touch with another descendant of Cordelia Shill and no one has been able to find a baptism record for her. It's possible that she was baptised in a Non Conformist chapel and the records have not been preserved. I have traced her parents and  grandparents and have sufficient information to prepare a record of her life.

Thank you for your responses, they look really good. I realise that the photo is in a very poor condition and that not much could be done with the female, however, the man's image has been made clear enough for me to compare it with a photo of my great grandfather and to confirm that it is not him. Perhaps they are not my great great grandparents either, I will have to do some more research. I will attempt to scan it with a higher resolution but my computer skills are limited and I may not succeed.

This photo is of either my great grandparents, John Roberts 1852-1930 and Ann Thomas 1852-1895, or my great great grandparents, John Roberts 1819-1889 and Mary Williams 1809-1870. Any suggestions, possibly from their clothes, as to which couple it could be?
Thank you

Can anyone help with house names please? I've traced my great great grandmother(Mary Jones) to Penmynydd and found 2 possibe matches on the 1841 census. On pages 2 and 3 there are several houses under a name that looks like Orwel or Orsedd. I can't make out the handwriting and would like to know the name of the houses. Could these be the Almshouses? It seems an odd name (should be Elusendai) but I can't think of anywhere else with so many houses together. Also, there seems to be several families living there and I understand that the purpose of the Almshouses was to provide homes for single men.
