Hi, I am researching my ancestors and have some names (see subject line). The family were living in Ayr, Scotland in 1930's and married into the Cloy family. I am wondering if anyone could help as I am not getting very far.

Thank you Hallmark. That's another branch then perhaps I would have to look along the McMorrow line as well.

Hi Rathmore, that's him-it's an address I have from his second marriage certificate, many thanks. Does it say anything about where he was born??

Not sure when/where they got married, I do know that he married a second time after Annie passed away to an Elizabeth Murray  I'm not sure about Paisley though, was it a Scotland Census you were looking at?
Still trying to trace his marriage records.

Thanks all for your help Aghadowy and Heywood, I am almost sure that the entry for Bridget and Bernard is the right one too, I will have to get some better glasses to try and read the parish registers though! I dont have the marriage certificate but have discovered that the father was James Ford who married Bridget Carney on 10.12.1860, this information has just come to me, they were farmers. They had quite a large section of land in the area which was later sold off in parcels until only a small piece remained.
There were several sons-this also has just been sent to me on another site:
John - 5.11.1861
Peter - 21.8.1863
Michael - 14.6.1865
James - 14.6.1867
Patrick - 5.3.1869
Bernard - 18.8.1872
Hugh - 11.9.1878
From this information above I still can't see John Patrick anywhere here, the date for this John is too early and the date for Patrick is also too early, so I am not sure now if this is the right family at all! It's all so confusing, so many families all give their children the same names!
Of course I know that some babies births were not registered, but seeing as most of this family were I would have thought John Patrick would have been too.
I have information that one of the descendants married a McMorrow.
I have learnt that James was into bare knuckle fighting and went by the name 'Kid Forde'
Best wishes

Leitrim / Looking for John Patrick Ford

Hi all, I have hit a brick wall in trying to find some info about my grandfather John Patrick Ford of Tawnyhoosy, Dromohair, Leitrim. I believe he was born circa 1873
I know he emigrated to Middlesbrough, Yorkshire and worked as a blast furnace man, his wife was Anne Scott. He died in Middlesbrough in 1927.
I am not sure but I think his mother was Bridget born circa 1838, brother Michael (1864).
Hoping someone could point me in the right direction, many thanks. ;D
