Good morning Jean,

I have just started looking into my family history when i saw your post from Feb 2008 post #55. Isabella Stephen, Catherine and Helen/Ellen Crichton are part of my family tree.
I was wondering if you had a photo of the headstone from 2008 ish? I was in that area yesterday and the headstone is now missing half of the inscription.

Thank you

Ellie

Thank you everyone for replying. Also thank you Sarah for changing the title of this post.

It's good to get a name for the person in the postcard. Not very sure how he fits into my family tree or even if he does. Maybe they liked his gansey jumper! As far as I am aware nobody from that side of the family moved away from fife. Thank you again everyone

Good morning jim1,

Thank you very much for your reply. Thats really interesting that you can date the postcard from the stamp box! I will have to look at the other ones i have.
I have attached a rescanned copy of the possible medal.
Many thanks

Lauren

Hi,
I have just started to research my family history as i have inherited some old photos. Some have names written on but majority do not.
I was just wondering if anyone would be able to help me date the attached photo? And if anyone knew what the medal (?) attached to his chest is?
The side of the tree that the photos are from, that i have gathered so far, are either Thomson, Deas or Turpies from the East of Fife.
Many thanks
Lauren
