Interesting info and thanks!!  I am puzzling over this.  Seems the Patrick listed on 1911 census and on the gravestone is too old and also has Celia as a wife, not Bridget as my Patrick's wifes name is.

Their homeland is so very close to my McHugh's, there must be a connection.  Thanks again.

Yes that is Edward the sibling in the 1911 Census.  He and Bridget Keaveny had 7 kids, 3 died as infants so maybe that gets to the 4 births listed on the census.  Patrick died at age 24, that gets down to 3 kids.  Mary Ann b. 1865 living with parents, single at age 47 in 1911, probably never married.  John b. 10 Aug 1868 I have no further information on.  Bridget b. 24 Aug 1883 married Patrick Diamond 06 Mar 1916 at Mullies RC church.  Children Mary Teresa Diamond b. 27 Jun 1918 at Manorhamilton workhouse and Bridget Diamond b. 22 Mar 1921 also at Manorhamilton workhouse.  I have no further record on Mary Teresa or Bridget Diamond.  Their mother Bridget McHugh Diamond d. 20 Feb 1930 in Manorhamilton Hospital.  That is all I have on this branch of the family at this time.  Looking for more, like what happened to John b. 1868?  Thanks!!

My g grandfather John McHugh emigrated from Leitrim in 1852 to New York, then he initially settled in Danbury Connecticut, fought in the US Civil War, and then settled in Roxbury neighborhood of Boston.  His brother Patrick emigrated 1864, and died in New York city 1912, apparently single.  The other brother Edward stayed in Glebe his entire life.  I am not certain of the sibling connection between these 3, it is primarily based on all three having parents Edward McHugh and Ellen Tucker from Leitrim.  Thanks for your help!

Yes thanks, I have.  I was hoping to find some living decendents of the family.

Looking for any info on my g grandfather John McHugh b 1836 in Glebe townland, Killasnet parish, near Manorhamilton. He emigrated to USA in 1852.  I believe he had brothers Edward b. 1840 (married Bridget Keaveny from Gurteen, had 6 children, stayed in Glebe until death in 1915) and Patrick b. 1845 who also went to US in 1860's.   Parents were Edward McHugh b. 1799 and Ellen Tucker.  Looking for any information on this family and its decendents.

I believe my gg grandfather is Edward MCHUGH b. 1799 Glebe Townland, Killasnet Parish, County Leitrim.  His wife I believe was Ellen TUCKER. I believe he had at least 3 sons; my ggrandfather John, who emigrated to USA at age 15 in 1852, Patrick, who also came to USA in 1860's, and Edward b. 1840 who married Bridget Keaveny, had 6 children, and stayed in Glebe his whole life.  In 1833 Tithe Applotment, there were 6 MCHUGH households in Glebe; Edward, his father Edward, and Michael, Terrance, Patrick and John MCHUGH.  I am looking to connect with anyone who may know of this family's history.  There are so many MCHUGH's concentrated in this small townland.  It seems they must be related and hopefully someone out there will have some knowledge.  Thanks!!
