Hi Foxhunter

I think its brilliant how we can reach out after posts have been on Rootschat for some time. Would be great to hear how your related and if you have done any research. I have been researching my Great Aunt Katies family in Ireland for some time and many times have been helped out on here by so many which Im very thankful for. My Mom now passed 2 years ago remembered Denis fondly. I have quite a tree growing now but nothing on the Pockett paternal side. Katie was taken back to Ireland for buriel where she is buried with her sister Eileen and their Mother Mary Kate Blayney, I do have a photograph of Mary and their father John Harris .I have since (quite recently) had contact with a friend of the family who lives in Wexford who I believe may still have contact (?) . Hopefully you can PM me soon. Lovely to hear from you.

Hi

Its been many years since I have re read these messages and since then have had DNA done and found direct cousins to my family in Castlehill Street. I am going through the messages again now that I have much more information and will post here for the wonderful people involved who have helped me further my research into finding my family. This is an amazing site and I have made many friends on here, to be able to return and go over the messages again because the information that I have been given even years later just slots right in with new family members that have come about because of DNA. I would just like to thank you all sincerely for all your help in getting me as far as I have come. Carol  :)

Dublin / Re: Wexford Kavanagh's in Dublin

Hi Dathai

Thank you so much for the message ! I had no idea of the police connection apart from rumours that Robert 1892 had been a policeman but then was contradicted and family say he was a security man at the museum in Dublin. I recently found out that he had married in Wexford but left his wife and moved to Dublin where my Mom remembered him on trips to the natural museum and saw him working there. Looking at the records you sent it would explain his resignation at that time maybe to leave for Dublin for some reason unknown. I had no idea that his father was also a policeman. I am now busy looking for him in the records also, I note that he was born In Wicklow. I also didn't know the name of Robert 1892 wife. Again thank you so much for the information its much appreciated.  :)
