« on: Thursday 27 July 23 18:35 BST (UK)  »
Hello,
I'm wondering if anyone has access to parish register marriages for Denbighshire? I'm looking for the marriage of Mary Ellen Jones (b1868, father Samuel Jones) to Henry Davies (b C1866) the marriage took place in the 2nd Q of 1886.
Many thanks in advance

Derbyshire Lookup Requests / Re: Hall/Handley Marriage
« on: Wednesday 26 January 22 22:25 GMT (UK)  »
thank you to those that have replied, the marriage locator didn't bring anything up, but emeltom brings up some points from Derbys FHS and it seems Ann Handley is not the right Ann for William Hall. On the 1851 census they are in my neck of the woods Ashton-Under-Lyne, both born in Belper with a 1 yr old son John. On the 1871 census they have Williams mother Mary living with them still in Ashton.
Hope this helps locate the marriage.
Many thanks
Jill

Hello,
I'm looking to find the marriage of Thomas Grimshaw and Hannah King in Haslingden 1872. Freebmd says Hydnburn Register office- 36/75 I'm just wondering if anyone knows if this would be a non-conformist marriage or am I going to have to purchase the certificate?
Many thanks

US Lookup Requests / Cleveland, Ohio
« on: Thursday 18 February 21 12:06 GMT (UK)  »
Hello, I'm trying to find out when Jacqueline Cottingham settled in USA. She was married to Walter Horace Cottingham who was the founder of Berger Paints that was based in Cleveland, Ohio. They owned a property in Maidenhead, Berks, England (Woolley Hall) and she was a well known breeder of Golden Retriever dogs.
I've checked on Ancestry immigration records and see them toing and fowing across the Atlantic throughout the 1920-30's. The last time I find her leaving England is in April 1939.
Please can anyone check to see where she was living during the 1930-40's and if possible to find a death for her. She was born in Paris, France c1893, I don't know her maiden name.
Many thanks in anticipation of help
kindest regards
Jill

Hello,
I have recently come across S. Kenworthy Antique dealer at Carlton St, Lower Regent St, London in 1933. (It should be T. Kenworthy (Thomas)).
Would anyone be able to check trade directories please the year before and after to see if they were there then? I have checked Leicester Uni directories but they are not that current.
thank you in anticipation
Jill

03 November 1938 - Birmingham Daily Gazette

Kenworthy’s Ltd of Birmingham.  Fred Kenworthy

Thanks for this, now I know what name they were trading under at that time. I'll see if I can find any more in the paper you mention.
best wishes, stay safe
Jill
