Shropshire / Weston family cleobury Mortimer Gentry
« on: Sunday 24 May 20 17:35 BST (UK)  »
I'm looking for information on a John Weston he lived in Cleobury Mortimer Shropshire I can't find a birth for him. An article on the man is here. And he is described as Mr in parish records so he is not poor.
http://www.shropshirehistory.org.uk/html/search/verb/GetRecord/theme:20070202162343

John Weston died 1584 Shropshire. He married an Alice strong in 1583  she died 1598. Since they were only married a year Im presuming he had previous marriages?
Im not sure where he was born the article refers to rugeley and the possibility his father was called John. I cant seem to find any information on him.  Also he possibly had a brother called Richard Weston.
The information I have is John Weston married Alice Strong July 7th 1583 Shropshire. He died 1584 yet his children were baptised in 1585?
The 3 children are
 Sara 1585
Richard 1585
Fortune ?

I found them from the probate article on Alice (Strong) Weston  though found no birth for Fortune. It also lists Alice's mother as Margery.

John possibly had a brother Richard who possibly married a Joane. I say possibly as I have found records in same parish Neen Savage and Cleobury Mortimer.
Richard had the following children:
Anne b 1613 d 1628
Elizabeth 1607
Francis 1605
George 1610
Alice b 1602
D 1627
Mary 1599

Any help on finding More about John Weston and Richard possibly from Rugeley much appreciated.

I have access to Ancestry records and have found a record of a Thomas born 1706 in Kennoway, fife which is the next town which lists father as Andrew mother as Barbara.

Just wondering if you viewed the actual record or just the transcription?

Annie

Hi , No just the transcription not the actual record.
