Hi recently given a newspaper obit of my g/g/grandfather Walter Davies stating that he was from Sarn. He was born in 1894 dad's name Richard Davies I cannot find a Walter anywhere in Sarn from that time. Can anyone help?   Thanks

Hi
Im trying to find information on a ship called Montreal in 1912. My G/g/grandfather died aboard it in May 1912.  How would i find info on the Montreal ie what sort of vessel , who owned it, etc.

Hi Raybistre Yes Anne is his wife. I tried the 1911 census and cant find Rhydygarnedd at all or Walter on the census. Im not from the area so i know nothing about it.

ShaunJ thank you for that i hadnt seen it.  Trouble is Davies i such a common name in the area.

Thanks Raybistre he did die there in 1925. The problem im having if finding where he came from before 1917. The Lancs connection was another of the many avenues ive taken to try & find him.

On my grandfathers wed cert (1946) it says  his occupation was: Cpl.No.Po/X 4830 R.M. (continuous service)
Could anyone explain what this means?

ShaunJ thank you for that Am i right in thinking 14th was a TA? battalion Do you have any more info or an idea where i should look?
Its so frustrating i have been trying to find Walter for a couple of years & nothing. Family have no idea as he died young. (in Tywyn)  My grandmother was a baby when he died & she is also now passed i never met her so i dont want Walter to be forgotten
