Hope this reaches you Liv.
So long since I’ve used RootsChat.
Am delighted to hear from you with news that we share grandparents. Don’t know why but can’t get this up on my computer so having to use mobile.
Would be good if we could chat.

Hello Jackie,
Have to say it was a surprise to get a reply (a pleasant one ) after 5/6 years.
Not sure ,at all, about connections as I have'nt done any research recently.
Find the William Duthie Fettes interesting.
You may have inspired me to get going again.
Regards , Skye.

Hi, Ev,
Thank you for your reply. I am (was) a Duthie, but although we lived in Montrose for a while, most of my Duthie ancestors were from Kincardineshire or other places in Forfarshire. Also Peats in Kincardineshire.
My family tree is on Genes Reunited if that's of any help.
Yours, Skye

Kincardineshire / Trying Duthie and Peat(Pate) again
« on: Wednesday 17 October 07 22:56 BST (UK)  »
First post over a year ago. Robert Duthie and Rebekah Peat. Her parents were William Peat and Helen Graham. Robert was a farm labourer at Canterlands farm. It's still there.
Have all their family if these names mean anything to you. Still hoping.

Still hoping, over a year later, that someone may have ancestors with those names from Forfarshire.

Dear Josephine,
Thank you again for your help. The death record as given on BC vital statistics was what first started me on my search though, I have to admit I can't recall how I first came by it.
I pursued the idea of getting a copy of his dc. but have to admit I found the process a bit confusing. Will study it again .
Have e-mailed New Westminster but  no reply yet.
Many thanks. Will keep on trying.

I am looking for relatives of my Grandmother's brother Stewart Steel b.1884c in Renfrewshire, Scotland.
According to, still living, elderly relative, he emmigrated to, Vancouver, Canada about 1905.
I have found, his possible death, 28/12/1973. Fraser Cemetary, New Westminster. Age 89
Was told he married late in life.
Can anyone help?
