Hi,

Am trying to work out the exact Date of Birth for what would be my 2x great-grandfather.  Can make out August 1860 but can't make out the exact date - hopefully birth certificate is attached.  Also,  trying to make out what the occupation of his father is, can't seem to read it properly.

Many thanks,

Oli

Thanks all.  Currently looks like Frank Hibbs & Janette are the likely culprits but not sure why they called themselves cousins as nothing with their surnames even remotely related to me great-grandmother.

Hi all,

Hope this is the right area to ask.  My dad & I are going through some of grandfather's old photos, letters etc.  Amongst his things was a letter to my great-grandmother congratulating her on the birth of my grandfather from a cousin Frank & looks like a cousin Janet (but no surname).  We're struggling to match the first names to anyone on my tree.

There is an address (101 Southampton Avenue, Berkeley, California) on the letter plus a date (15th October 1925) so was wondering if there's a way of finding out a full name of who was living there at the time?

Many thanks,

Oli

He was in Lambeth 1939 (not the one posted earlier) and still single.

Annette

I can’t see this entry on Ancestry but FindMyPast indexes has an entry in Southwark. I can’t check though.

Thanks - this seems to be for his nephew (married to Susanna Weed).

Thanks all, apologies for the slow reply myself.  There are two Edward John Casserlys.  The main one mentioned in the replies (married to Susanna Weed) is the nephew.  The Edward John we're looking for is brother to Thomas Joseph Casserly (also mentioned in the thread).

I don't think he's married but shall check.

Hi,

Trying to find a relative (name in subject) on behalf of my cousin.  Trying to find the 1939 record for him - meant to be  living around the Strand (London) at that time.

US Resources & Offers / Re: US Census, 1950

Thanks Erato.  Can't seem to search on the NARA site for the 1950 census - get advised to look through https://1950census.archives.gov/

When I search through there,  I don't seem to have those last pages.  Here's the link for what I'm trying to look up - https://1950census.archives.gov/search/?ed=16-512&page=1# - the entry I'm looking at is 2nd one on page 6.

Not sure if I'm reading this correctly- is the address 500 Maple? (between Wilder & Kemper households on page 6)
If so, that household is on page 15- Hawley L. Smith & sister Mildred C. Smith and also a hired hand & maid with the surname Rukuzia.

Yes, this is the correct address - 500 Maple in Winnetka but the names don't match my great-grandparents.
