Well hello to you both!  Kimberly, it’s been a little while since I’ve paid much attention to this stuff but have been diving back in lately.  I found Kay on a different thread:). Glad to see our paths cross again!  I”m learning much!

How do you check yourself as part of the Romany DNA project?  I am in a line of Lamberts and Campbells but having difficulty finding documentation beyond newspaper report and census listings in the mid 1800s.

Europe / Re: Narva, ESTONIA - looking for surname TERK b. 1909

Hello there! I have been searching for Estonaian relatives in the 1918 time frame for some time now but keep coming up with dead ends.  The surname is Maggi or Magi and the profession of my great grandfather was a merchant marine.  He travelled frequently to the states before settling here and marrying his Finnish girlfriend who came from Eurajoki Finland.  Shot in the dark here to see if anyone knows of surnames:
Magi
Maggi
Salonen
Katavisto

Thank you!

Wow! How very cool!  I’ll make a few more posts so that we can privately message-I only joined this yesterday specifically so I could respond to this thread. :)  I am working my way back from Joshua, but have definitely traced myself down through Joshua’s son William Henry.  Would love to exchange info!

Hello!  I too have traced my genealogy back to Joshua Lambert and Esther Campbell-they would have been my 3rd great grandparents.  I found an 1861 Census Listing with them in tents on Cinderhill Lane in Horsted Keynes.  Are these the same people you are talking about?  Interested in learning more about the gypsy culture-could make a LOT of things in my family make sense!!
