Hi Kiwi, Renee and Hallmark. I’m sorry I haven’t replied sooner, I never seem to see these messages until years have passed, but better late than never.
All of your recent posts are fascinating, I will construct a Tree as I find it easier to visualise everything on a Tree and then see if I can find anything else.

Of note is that recently I have discovered that although the line I started my post with ‘may have lived at some time in Cork’ if the family tale is correct, the Bloodline now appears to come historically from County Clare.  So anyone who has similar names to these historically in County Clare in their ancestry, even if they emigrated all over the world subsequently, could be especially interesting.

Hello, I’ve only just found your message, its fascinating as I have read the newspaper reports about Amelia many times. I’ve been researching various Dynan family lines for about 30-35yrs now trying to find the correct one or piece various bits of info together to get an accurate whole! I must admit with very little luck, as there are so many surname variations, locations and of course the well known difficulty with Irish Records.
I have never before read about his life and Medals though, so it’s really interesting.

Do you know what Denis Dynan’s ancestry is? Particularly his parents and where his family originated, I’m suspecting Ireland and I’d love to know what County to be able to see if he fits into one of the Trees I’m working on.
The Dynan line I’m looking for, or trying to get back into Ireland from, includes a man born in Ireland abt 1803-1812 (depending on which record one believes), I’m still unsure where in Ireland he was born, but its now looking like maybe County Clare. I’m just curious about your Denis and whether he could be connected some way.

I’ve been reading lots of info online and in addition to the ones mentioned earlier I’ve also found Dynan families living nearby the surnames above also in Lahinch and the surrounding area. Just thought I’d add that incase it helps anyone.

I’m very interested to see your post as I have considered Nicholas Dynan and Mary Somers/Summers in a tree ive been searching for decades as a potential son/cousin to my line.
When Nicholas and Mary married Nicholas was listed as a Tailor and his father was a John Dynan who was also a Tailor.  They married in Great Bolton, Lancashire (if I remember correctly) and
Marys father was listed as a Soldier.

My interest is in Nicholas as ‘a’ Nicholas Dynan/Dinan attended a Baptism of Johns daughter Ann in 1842 in Liverpool…but I cant be certain its the correct Nicholas, although there are not many around in Lancashire at he time who also fit the Tailor Occupation and have a Father called John.

The Dynan’s were R/C at that time and so your Mary maybe R/C too.
I’m sorry I havent looked at Mary much as when Nicholas died in or about 1854 and Mary remarried later, that finished my Dynan aspect as as far as I know they didnt have children together.
