Hello, I am Adam Reinhard Metz's great-great-great granddaughter. Friedrich Emil Metz is my great-great grandfather, and his daughter Charlotte Catherine Maria Johanna Metz was my great-grandmother (my mother, who is 93, called her "Muetterchen," German for "little Mother"). I am the person that posted the information regarding his having changed his name, etc. etc. This is family history that has come down through the generations though I have no evidence that it is actually true.
You said you are looking for info on Friedrich Emil? Are you related? That would make us cousins.

Also, I speak German and I can read old German script (and much old German handwriting, though not all.)
