I see this post is really old but am replying on the off chance you might see it. Is your house in Cenarth? if so, it once was lived in (and the farmed) by my x5 great grandfather Lazarus Jones.

Antrim / Look up help please - Belfast death - William McBurnie 1934
« on: Thursday 18 February 21 16:11 GMT (UK)  »
Hello,
I have hit a brick wall.  ::) Any help gladly received!

I am looking for any information on the death of William McBurnie who was buried in the Belfast city cemetery in August 1934, in the same grave as his step son (Rodger Chandless) who was buried there in 1904.

His last known address was 35 Botanic Avenue (which I assume was in Belfast). Before he died he was living in Harrow, England.
He was married to Augusta Chandless in 1901.
He was born 22 nov 1872 in Liverpool - Original surname was Llorca but took his stepfathers name Mc Burnie.

I'd love to find any info on his death and why he was buried in Belfast with a stepson that died 30 years previously.

Many thanks!

Hello,
Is anyone able to help clean up this image of my great grandfather. It is a photocopy of a newspaper article and the only photo we have of him. Unfortunately to keep it safe my mum folded it in half to put it in a book... right across his face  ::)

Ive tried myself but I'm not much good so any help would be so gratefully received.

Hampshire & IOW Lookup Requests / Moses (Portsea) Help needed!
« on: Thursday 28 January 21 21:46 GMT (UK)  »
Hello!
I have come to a dead end searching for information on Charles Moses b1886 Portsea to parents John Moses and Emily nee Spencer.
I have him to two census returns for Portsmouth 1891 and 1901 (as a stone mason journeyman) but then the trail goes stone cold (pardon the pun!).
Any help would be so gratefully received.
 :)

I linked to the previous topic at reply #8. Lots of risk of duplication here.

Thank you. I agree, I thought this look up would be simple which is why I didn't put it on the original Walker one. That might have been a mistake  :-\

as her daughter, Augusta Ellen Roles had the surname Walker when she married in 1879. She also had no one to authorise the marriage as she was under 21.

Sorry I thought Augusta was down as a niece of Sarah in 1871 not a daughter.

Have you got the birth for Augusta to confirm her sister Mary Ann wasn't her mother?  Apologies if you already have this.  I remember the names from another topic so will go refresh myself.

Yes, her mother is definitely Sarah Roles. I've got the workhouse register and the birth certificate. Not sure why she's down as niece... family trait as Augusta later puts her daughter down as her sister in various census.
