So many knocked down to make way for what? I took my mam for a visit years ago. She said it all looked different, but she enjoyed it.

I've been having a good look round it! They also lived on Northbourne St and Strickland Street. That's such a good resource. Thank you.

That's brilliant. Thank you. Does that mean it isn't there anymore? My mam lived there round about 1930s x

Northumberland / Isabella street

Hi

Does anyone know where Isabella Street was? I know it was around Elswick. My family lived three and I have certificates with the street on it. I can't find it on any maps.

Thanks
Rosemary

Hi

Would anyone be able to search through Vickers Armstrongs records for an apprenticeship record please? Going back to around 1935. And any records of my grandfather who worked there from around 1924 to 1941. The apprenticeship record would be my uncle.

Hi

I haven't been active on Rootschat much since then due to an upheaval at home. I didn't get any further with the search then. I changed email addresses and lost contact with lots of people. Not sure what happened with David's search but I'd welcome your help, and can wait however long you need ! I'll pm you tomorrow.
Regards
Rosemary

Hi
After a gap of searching, I'm still hoping to find information from St Michael's church, if anyone can help. I realise the church records are now held in TWA. Any help appreciated

That's her though. I thought she may have been a VAD. He was in a hospital from 1917 but don't know where. She was working and born in that area. I know Lynford Hall was used as a hospital during WW1.
