parish records for Wilcrick seem to be patchy before 1814. Only Bts available and not for every year.

baptism for James 12 July 1795. Several possible baptisms of siblings in Cwmcarvan to parents John & Elizabeth Williams. There may be more than one family.
William bp 4 Dec 1796
Jeremiah bp 18 Feb 1798
Margaret bp 3 Nov 1799
Elizabeth bp 23 Oct 1800
Mary bp 7 Jan 1801
Jacob bp 11 Sep 1803
Samuel bp 13 Feb 1805

The Elizabeth Williams who was buried 23 June 1822 was 45 so young to have been giving birth to James in 1795.
Unusual to see a 20 year age gap between bride and groom.
There's an Elizabeth Hambleton who married in Cwmcarvan 19 Oct 1801 but to George Lewis. She may have been baptised in Mitchel Troy 23 Sept 1770.

something of interest from the military records of Joseph Charles is that his next of kin is noted as Mary Harris, mother. This was crossed out and name of wife added.

Marriage 9 Sept 1874 Trimulgherry for William Harris 29 bachelor gunner father Thomas Harris and
Mary Lyons 40 widow father Michael Shallow.

Burial in Thayet Myo 25 July 1873 Michael Lyons 36 years 2 months Gunner RA, died 24 July malignant cholera.

there is a John Davies of the right age with father John, a shoemaker, in Ystradgynlais but he is still in the area unmarried in later census years.
