Glyntaff was indeed the earliest crematorium in Wales, and opened in 1924. The records are still with Glyntaff Crematorium themselves, and they've also got the registers for Glyntaff Cemetery (on the same site) - and the staff there should be able to assist with a lookup. Their phone number is 01443 402810, but I can't see an email address for them online.
If the people you're searching for lived in Trethomas, though, I wonder if their young children would have instead been buried in one of the cemeteries now under Caerphilly County Borough - although I must admit my local knowledge is a bit sketchy outside of Rhondda-Cynon-Taf, so am not sure which cemetery (Bedwas Cemetery is probably the closest, but I don't think they were opened as early as that). You could try contacting Caerphilly's bereavement's department - there's a contact form on their website: https://eforms.caerphilly.gov.uk/forms/webCACFINFO101.aspx?section=Bereavement%20services
