I am researching on behalf of my FIL for his birth mother.
I have the following information from his and her birth certificates.

FIL mother: Born Mary 12/7/1922 @ Grosvenor Nursing Home, 42 Forest Road, Nottingham
Her father: Henry Albert Goode (retired Victualler)
Her Mother: Leah Goode (formerly Parkin)
residing at 24 Beech Ave, Sherwood Rise, Nottingham

Hi I have by chance come across your post!
My Mother was the Mary Brown nee Goode that you were looking for. She passed away 29.10.92.
I have a half sister, Marilyn Grundy born January 1945. She was 11 when my Mother married my Father  So she would have been 4 when your FIL was born. She doesn’t really know who her Father was except what my Mother told her - that his name was Harold Grundy and he died in the war?? We are not sure if this is true.? All the other details you have discovered are correct. We believe our Grandfather Goode couldn’t marry Leah Parkin until his first wife had died. Hence the date of 1928 on the birth certificate.
My sister and I would be very happy to meet your FIL, who would be our half brother??

This Birth cert was reissued on 25/09/1928 by authority of the register - we don't know why.

On my FIL birth cert his mother is named at Mary Grundy & her mother Parkin. No father listed.
He was born in 1949, Worksop

He was born Michael Grundy and adopted name: *
There is an interesting connection though as his adopted mother was a Grundy and his adopted father is Batty although he definitely was adopted.

I have traced his connection to Goode through DNA (my heritage) to a Doris Ivy Goode (married Elliott) (1930-2016)
