Ok, I've found him now in 1881; he was 23, a professor of music, living in Hastings with his widowed mother and still single.
Hi again I would suggest that the last "wife" was possibly a Georgina, have you therefore checked the 1939?
A Georgina Beaney died December qtr 1944 Mansfield 7b 86 aged 90
EDIT When/where did the first "Wife" die?
I suggested this?

Thanks yes I have this info but not who his wife was when he died(1932)
1911 Census, Living @Gilcroft Cottage Mansfield as Lodger married but wife not with him
1911 Census
Now look up the Georgina Beaney 56 b Hastings as Lodger married but husband not with her, has a son Bernard Beaney 28 b Hastings, who if you look back to my posts, was surname Avery 1891/1901 Census?
As a matter of interest James Beaney 23 with his widowed mother in 1881 Census ref RG11/1027/74/2 is from Google Maps about an 11 minute walk from a Georgina Avery 26 b Hastings?
Census ref RG11/1027/10/13
