5x gt grandmother, Mary BALSON  born about 1738 married Nathaniel ADAMS in Frithlestock 6 April 1750
They had 7 children the first 4 in Frithelstock 1761-1773 the last three in Alwington1774-1778
Mary died in Alwington in 1801her age in the burial register was 68

But that is all we have found about her,
Can anyone help me find Mary before marriage?

The most relevant death
1878 aged 81 - 1797
 was for one buried in Kidlington the register reads:
1878 Jan 4   GILES   Martin   81   Woodstock Union   WB

I have taken this as the one on the 1871 census in Kidlington
"Martin GILES 74 an Ag Lab from Kidlington was with his wife Rosa 71."

So although the widow of the other one, Magaret, was still in North Aston in 1861 and 1871 and she was buried there in 1874, her Martin does not appear in the parish burial register. He was a coal merchant in 1851 and in the trade directonary in 1852 and as pointed ot a boatman in 1856
So where did he die between 1856 and 1861, Margaret was a widow with her daughter and son in lawin 1861.
The stretch of the Oxford Canal between Banbury and Tackley forms the eastern boundary of North Aston parish. So if he was transporting coal by boat it may be worth considering places along the Oxford canal does the whole area fall into the Woodstock registration district?
The Daughter was born in Upper Heyford another plac on the canal!

English Breakfast or  Darjeeling ?
Many thanks good ideas I searched Newspapers with each name in turn no further hits though I have also put all four names in turn on FindMyPast and An...try no  further joy. I think I'll  try to find her last child (Ben) with her husband. on school records using his real name and the fourth name. His father died in 1883 and grand dad was born in 1887 so she possibly knew another man between the two I know about Ben would have started school in the gap.

I believe that my mother worked at Hunter's Hill  Open Air School for boys in Bromsgrove, at the beginning of WW11. Has anyone a photograph of the school or know anything about it that I can add to her story please?
