Hi there

Having had a quick look at Carno burials in 1903, there are lots of entries where it says certified by, followed by a name - usually the same surname as the deceased. I don't actually know the answer but I wonder if these people may be the informant as shown on the death certificates? Just a guess really.

There are some gravestones here http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=csr&CScn=bedlington&CScntry=5&CSst=0 . the parish church does have some older graves but I guess it's not a complete list of those buried there. Northumberland and Durham FHS have a transcript of monumental inscriptions for Bedlington

Looking at the actual parish registers for Bonsall St James on familysearch, there is another baptism for a John Wigley son of John Wigley and Mary 7th March 1795.

You could try following both families through to see if they stayed in Bonsall. The Derbyshire parish records are available here, you do need to register to family search to view the actual register but it's free. https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:S3HT-DT8W-G5?owc=34JX-MNL%3A1581159903%2C1581160506%3Fcc%3D1911752&wc=34JF-92W%3A1581159903%2C1581160506%2C1581160510%3Fcc%3D1911752&cc=1911752

I think both Holsworthy and Pyworthy are in Devon not Cornwall so might be an idea to post on the Devon board

Hi

There is a marriage in Duffield in 1817

John Walker married Ruth Waterfall 6 July 1817

He a bachelor she a spinster.

Claire

On familysearch ( Derbyshire Parish registers - you need to register (free) to see the actual PRs ) the marriage ( by banns) entry shows 2 witnesses, Sarah Waterfall and James Lowther ? ( his name appears on quite a lot of the records so maybe a church clerk etc). John and Ruth are shown of this parish (Duffield) and John, Ruth and Sarah all made a mark.

The entries on familysearch for the childrens baptisms come from Bishops Transcripts and they are shown as Church of England, Belper Chapelry in the parish of Duffield

A Mary Percival married a Peter Barber at Warrington (Lancs) 11 NOV 1806 this is only from indexes, so you might want to look at the original entry if you think this might fit. It wouldn't be that unusual for a Cheshire couple to marry in Warrington at this time.

Lancs OPC have the marriage entry 11 Nov 1806 St Elphin, Warrington, Peter Barber otp and Mary Percivall OTP ( she signed X) by banns witnesses Daniel Percivall and Susan Plant

Derbyshire / Re: Looking for Elizabeth Wild

I've just found a record on FamilySearch, saying that the Elizabeth WILD baptized 03 Jan 1819 at Wirksworth (born 29 Nov 1818), daughter of John and Elizabeth, seems to have died 05 Dec 1819.
So it looks like this baptism at Wirksworth can't be the right one :-\

("England Births and Christenings, 1538-1975," database, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:JWH9-LCS : accessed 8 June 2016), Elizabeth Wild, 03 Jan 1819; citing , reference ; FHL microfilm 428,955, 498,146, 498,147, 498,148.)

That's also on the Wirksworth PRs too, buried 5 Dec 1819 - at least it's ruled that one out

Another transcript of that baptism record suggests that the surname is Fort.  This would tie in with a marriage of John Fort & Susannah Stevens 10 June 1770 at Ilton

And another transcript which is nearer to the one freereg shows HOTT / IIETT?? parents John and Shuannah  http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~sarahhawkins/ilton_baptisms_1743-1812.htm

Have a browse through Wirksworth PR transcriptions to see if there might be a clue
