Hello

I am looking for any information on John Beardsley b 1813 in Belper. Some records say Shottle. I know in later years the family moved to Melbourne Derbyshire. John was a butcher, as was his son Robert, who murdered his wife! John married an Elizabeth Radford. I have been unable to find John's parents

Thanks in advance

Kind regards

Hello there

Does anyone have any idea where I would find more details on a relation who was a nun? She was born in 1908 but I don't have any other info, except her name etc.

Thanks

Thanks for your suggestions both. I have tried contacting her, but no response. I will try auto clusters, although I think I know which line she is from, from the shared matches. I just wish Irish BMD records went a bit further towards present day and I could work it out myself, no problem!

Hello

Sorry if this has been posted before, but has anyone got any tips on finding Irish connections? I have a match on My Heritage. She has no tree. It says she is 80 years old. She matches one of my mother's second cousins and my mother, but I don't know who she is and neither does the shared match. If it was an English match I would be able to find out who she is by searching back through records, but obviously that isn't possible with Irish records as they finish online in about 1958.

Would appreciate any guidance.

Thanks

Slaghty, or Sloughtee: "A district of the townland consisting of a great many miserable houses. It is bounded on the East by Lough Derg."

That's a very honest account isn't it, "great many miserable houses" haha!

Galway / Where is this place?

Hello

An ancestor of mine, Martin Tuohy married Honoria Banfield/Bonfield in 1877 in Looscaun Parish. They both gave their place of residence as Shlaughtee or Slaughtee. I've tried everything I can think of to find where this place is. Does anyone have any ideas?

If it's any help, Martin's father is given as Patrick Tuohy (died) and Honoria's father is Michael Banfield (alive).

Thanks
