Hi Tanja

That could well be her, have found she was born in 1858 Finsbury Circus London, father Frederick Blomfield, grandfather Charles James Blomfield, 1786-1857, Bishop of London.  Could you have a look at 1891?  She married Gerald Gurney in 1897.

Susan

Would it be possible to find Harry SHUKER and family on any census please?

Harry was born in Wrexham in 1899, possible address 12 Offa Terrace, Bersham.

His father was a railway guard, so the family might have moved around a bit.  His brother was Edward and sister Dolly (she was possibly older and he was younger).

Many thanks!

I wonder if it is possible to find Charles & Augusta after their marriage?

We thought Daniel was a farmer...

United States of America / BBC RAdio Gloucs - Julia Augusta HAREWELL born Brooklyn
« on: Saturday 14 October 06 15:00 BST (UK)  »
Julia Augusta HAREWELL was born in c 1858 in Brooklyn New York (British Subject).

Can anyone find the family in the USA on any records, please?

Her father was George HAREWELL and in 1878 he is described as a coach builder.  This is at the time of Julia's marriage & she was then living High Street Cheltenham.

(We already have UK census records)

Thank you!

 :)

Gloucestershire Lookup Requests / BBC Radio Gloucs - Daniel NIBLETT any census please
« on: Saturday 14 October 06 14:47 BST (UK)  »
We would like to find Daniel on any census.

On his son's marriage certificate (1878) it says that he is a farmer.  The marriage took place in Cheltenham, but it is thought that the family came from Woodchester.

The son is Charles Henry NIBLETT and he married Julia Augusta HAREWELL.  Charles was 25 and Julia 20 in 1878.

Any help appreciated, thank you!

 :D

Hi Tanja

Sandie has gone, she doesn't have any further details on family. Dorothy Frances Gurney was a famous poetess born 1858 died 1932.
Would have thought there was a biography or some such, but haven't found anything.

Susan  :)

Sandie may have missed generation out so may not have been a Norris that she married  ???

The Common Room / BBC Radio Gloucs - Eliza HYDE - why was she born East Indies?
« on: Saturday 14 October 06 14:28 BST (UK)  »
My customer would like to know why his ancestor was born in the East Indies.

Eliza HYDE is seen on the 1851 census, in Minchinhampton with her father Cornelius who worked in the mill.

She is the only one of her family born outside Gloucestershire and we would like to know what would have taken her family to the East Indies.  We have not found any link between Cornelius's employer (Egypt Mill) and the east Indies.

Grateful for any help.

 ;)
