I am trying to find a burial map of Longcot Church, Berkshire, without having to travel to Reading to the record office.

Is anyone able to point me to an online copy?

Many Thanks

Sue

Hi Ian,

Thankyou for that.

It is interesting that you found him going to America as he ended up in England.  I have a letter from his brother Sven and his father from America but I didnt know that he was there as well.

Thank you for all your help.

Hi again,

Just a quick question.

I notice that the links are from a website called riksarkivet, is this a better website to use than
Arkivdigital.  As you can probably tell, I am new to researching my Swedish ancestors and would like to use the most comprehensive website.

Many Thanks

Sue  :) ;)

Hi Ian and Zefiro,

Thank you for all your help.  The links to his birth are an added bonus as I had not been able to find that either.

This confirms that Elin was not his mother, which I had suspected.

Thankyou once again.

Sue  :)

Hi Ian,

Thankyou for replying.  I attach the linke below.  My Gt Grandfather is the son Jonas Ludvig.  I am trying to translate the small text next to his name and also all the text in the far right hand column.

I do not think that Elin was his mother as when he applied for British naturalisation during World War 1 he stated his mothers name was Christine Neilson.  I am hoping that this annotation to his name confirms my suspicions.

Hi, I have found a household record of my Great Grandfather in Sweden.  There are some notes annotated to his name and I wondered if anyone could help with translation.  I have tried google translate but I havent got very far.

Many Thanks

England / Parish Register help Please
« on: Thursday 30 April 20 14:18 BST (UK)  »
Hi,  I wonder if anyone could help me with a question on Baptisms recorded in Parish Registers.

I have found 5 children baptised with the fathers name listed as Richard Turner but no mothers name was listed.  The baptisms started in 1695 and went up to 1705.  I then found a marriage of a Richard turner to an Anne Hobbs in 1722.

In the baptisms after 1722 I found 2 more with the parents name of Richard and Anne Turner.

I cannot find any other marriage for Richard.

My question is why there was no mothers name recorded in the first 5 baptisms?  Is this a normal approach, does it mean that Anne was the mother but they were not married, or is there likely to be a different mother for the first 5 children.

Thankyou, Sue
