It looks like Salvatore's name got switched and they were all transcribed with the surname Salvatore in Charles Town, WV in 1940.  https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:K7C6-3B3?lang=en

Was Henry in Scotland for the 1911 census?  That might clear up whether or not he was in the US from 1907-1914.

Also, with the reported leaving in 1914, he (or the cousin) might have gone back to fight in WWI.  I've also seen Scottish men who were in the US and went to Canada to join the military because Canada got involved in WWI before the US did.

Do you know where in Illinois he lived?  I don't know if this sort of thing exists online, so it may be something you'd have to check with a local archive about.

United States of America / Re: Harry & Kathleen Marchant (nee Thompson)

There are a few things odd about this. His middle name is misspelled and I  know his date of birth is 8/8/1890.

The "u" in Hudson county also looks a lot like an o, so I think that may have been a handwriting quirk instead of a misspelling.

It's not unusual for birth years to fluctuate a little and keep the same day/month, but Harry seems to be consistently going younger in his marriage certificate, draft registration card, and census records, so it may have been deliberate.

You're welcome.

In the 1930 census, Harry is listed as born in New York, and his age at first marriage was consistent with his marriage to Christina.

He was also listed as born in New York in the 1940 census, but he has France as a birthplace in the 1950 census.

Harry's ages on the census also seems to be significantly younger than the California death index and Social Security death index mentioned above.

Also, his WWII draft registration card says he was born 8 Aug, 1892 in New Cross, England.  https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:XR1P-Y53?lang=en

Sounds like Harry wasn't very forthcoming about his past and/or he was confused?

I didn't find any reference to Kathleen's death, but it looks like son Charles married & died in Canada, so maybe she went back there with him?

It looks like there is maintenance going on, so it will be unavailable until April 2.

This seems to be the birth record of the Timmie in the census, who was the son of Peter Monahan & Nellie.  https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:6KMY-MRXF?lang=en  It has his mother's name as Ellen Herlihy.  The marriage record of Peter Monahan & Ellen Herlihy has Murphy as Ellen/Nellie's mother's maiden name.  https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:F636-V44?lang=en  Maybe that's the connection?
