Andrew Armstrong married Ann Jolly in March 1816. These were most probably my GGGrandparents. Ann hada brother Walter who was living with the Armstrongs in 1821. Now I am looking for Ann Jolly's parents, and those of her husband Andrew Armstrong, any ideas?

Ireland / Armstrongs
« on: Thursday 02 March 06 09:10 GMT (UK)  »
Is there a record of people who actually boarded a the vessel Sesostris in 1847 going to Quebec. I have a list of the Armstrongs who got off but there is no mention of wife Ann Armstrong. There is an Ann Armstrong interred at Grosse Ile in 1847, I would like to prove it is the same one, my great great grandmother,
                        regards

Thank you Soopy,
I believe Andrew Armstrong went to Quebec on the Sesostris in June 1847. he came from Eniskillen and I still have to find out who all the Armstrongs were who travelled with him. Interesting thing is an Ann Armstrong, probably his wife is buried at the Quarantine station at Gros Ile,  Quebec also in 1847. What I have to prove is that they were man and wife and he maiden name was Jolly.  Does anyone know where I can access the complete passenger list for the Sesostris?
                                 Regards
                                  Alistair

Thank you Soopy,
It all adds grist to the mill and eventually we will sort out these McCormicks. In my search for Armstrongs from Derryvolland I have not come across a Nicholina or any Copelands, will let you know if they appear,
             Regards

Thank you Trish,
I found the McCormick names on the flaxgrowers list through Ancestry , probaply at the Church of the Latter Day Saints in Bendigo. I had a look today and cannot find them!. Perhaps some of the more experienced people on Rootschat can help us. Ancestry only gave the names unless one is a subscriber.
We will keep trying, (Try Google)
                         Regards
                                   Alistair,

Hello Grendlsmother,
Have you looked at the 1796 Irish Flax Growers list for Moaghan  There is a Peter McCormick there, along with a Joseph , how do we find out if they are ours?
                                Regards

Hi Grendlsmother,
It would be interesting (and very fortunate) if we could establish that your Peter McCormick and my Joseph McCormick were related, they are both about the same date,

Thank you Gougy,
It was a long shot looking for my grandmother in Sussex. On four different census records she was born in 1) the Strand London. 2) Canterbury, 3) Enland and 4) Does not know. It sure makes family history interesting,
               Regards
