Thanks for the above!!  It's wonderful reading about him.  I had heard rumours that he was the adventurous sort but I hadn't known any of the details.  If you know of anything else I'd love to hear it.

Cheers,
BigguyCalgary

Hi Chinaplate,

Thanks for this message.  I didn't receive the other one.  I'm really happy to see your post.  I haven't been able to find very much information on any of my Grandfather's siblings and the only information I have on my Grandfather is mostly rumors.  Which sister are we related through?  Do you have your tree available anywhere?  Please let me know.

Cheers,
BigguyCalgary

Hi Richard,

I'm sorry I wasn't around to be able to respond to your posts.  Business has kept me away from my searching.  You are correct in that Robert Heritage, my gt. gt. grandfather, is one of the sons of Thomas and Maria Heritage.  Also correct is that all the Heritage clan that I've found are linked to the Holborn/Clerkenwell area.

Thank you for that additional piece of information about Samuel.  I wasn't aware that he lived in the Hackney area.  I've been spending so much time looking at my Heritage clan and the Holborn area, I didn't think to look at my friend's Heritage clan and their whereabouts.

I appreciate all the help and any further suggestions/information you might have.

Cheers,
Brian

Hi Anna,

Thanks for the response.  I don't have access to the census's other then the 1881 and I'm sure he didn't live that long.  As for wills, I wouldn't know where to look.  I'm only able to do my searches over the internet as I live in Canada.

Cheers,
Brian

Okay, so I guess no one has any suggestions on how I can either prove or disprove this connection.  I'll just continue trying as I go along.

For the last year or more I've been trying to find a connection between my Gt Gt Gt Grandfather Thomas Heritage and another Thomas Heritage who appears on a persons tree I ran into over a year ago.  I don't know when or where my Thomas was born or if he had any siblings.  I do know that he married a Maria Adams in 1806 but that's about it.

My friend with the Heritages on his tree has the following information:

Thomas Heritage - Bapt. Sep 1779, Fillongley, Warwick, England
John Heritage - Bapt. Jun 1785, Fillongley, Warwick, England
Mary Heritage - Bapt. Sep 1789, Fillongley, Warwick, England
Samuel Heritage - Bapt. Apr 1792, Fillongley, Warwick, England

We think that his Thomas Heritage and mine are the same person.  The reason we think this is that his Mary Heritage was married in the same church a couple of year after my Thomas Heritage was married.  We have copies from the Pallot's marriage index.  They we both married at St. Andrews, Holborn.  My Thomas married a Maria Adams in 1806.  His Mary was married in the same church a few years later.

Sorry for the length of this.  So, that's my problem.  I've been trying to prove or disprove that these two Thomas Heritages are the same person.  Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can do this?  I'd appreciate any help I can get.  I think I've hit a brick wall on this one.

London & Middlesex Completed Lookup Requests / Re: 1851 Census Lookup - Cunningham

Thanks for trying.  At this point, all the information I have for Sarah, I wrote in my original post.  I'll have to order the marriage certificate and see if that gives me any more information.

Cheers,
Bigguy

I am looking for any information concerning a Sarah Cunningham.  On November 4, 1860 she married William Heritage, a direct relative of mine.  I know that she was born in the last quarter of 1841 in the Holborn area.  I know that on the 1881 census it says that she was born in the Clerkenwell area, which I understand is the same as Holborn depending on the year.  What I am hoping is that someone might be able to find the make up of Sarah's family in the 1851 census.  Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers,
Bigguy

Thanks again Barbara, for looking a little further.  Yuo may be right that if they did have children, they are probably with family.  I'll keep that in mind as I continue the hunt.

Cheers,
Bigguy
