Treefan,

Have a look at the following link http://www.crossrhythms.co.uk/articles/music/Rob_Ash_Welsh_singer_songwriter_undergirded_with_Blue_Steel/31663/p1/
It is about Rob ASHONG who goes by the name Rob ASH.

Hope it's of some help

So it looks like it was a bit for Notts and a bit for Derbyshire.

Thanks

Was Mansfield classed as Derbyshire in the 1920's.

I know I am a bit late but found this.

Port Talbot works began with the Margam plant, completed in 1923, and then the Abbey plant in 1951. The works was named after Christopher Rice Mansel Talbot of Margam, the principal sponsor of the nearby dock, which had opened in 1837. Additions to Port Talbot Works include the continuous annealing processing line in 1998, caster 3 in 2005 and heavy-end developments from 2003-2006. Today, 3600 employees produce some 4.7 million tonnes of steel a year, roll about 3 million of it themselves and send the rest to Llanwern to roll

Glamorganshire / Re: Cornish Court, Neath also "Japan"

Pip,

I thought Cornish Court was "down the Green" as my great grandparents lived "down the Green". I would be interested in seeing the map and is there any way you can scan it and PM me ?

I am originally from the Melin (now living in Bridgend) but I didn't know thet "The Japan" was where the garage is.  My mother's father worked in "The Japan" and I knew it was a form of decoration on tins etc.

Many thanks for the prompt reply and I have another question........ Do you know where Texas Terrace or Row was?
