Thank you! Got him! Guess I was being TOO specific!! It gets so frustrating when I know all the details but STILL cannot seem to find anyone!! 😂

Thanks again!

Found him on Ancestry (I am quite shocked how often they seem to misspell things. I look at the original document and can see it was all spelled correctly originally).

Still gotta nail him on Familysearch!

Thanks

Was that on Familysearch? As I tried searching those exact details and nothing came up!

If you meant Ancestry, apologies and I will try that later!

Just a quickie but for some reason I can no longer find John Gibson Fouldes in 1911 census! I have tried family search and Ancestry. He was born in 1884 in Sheffield and is living away from his family.

It is strange why I cannot find him! A family search link would be great!

Cheers

I can tell you this, for a paid service Ancestry seems to make a lot of spelling mistakes for names! I have seen family members names spelled wrongly on their transcripts. I think "Oh well a lot of people couldn't spell back then" but when I look at the original document I can see the spelling is totally correct, just ancestry has transcribed it all wrong! Has anyone else found that this is the case for them?

Cheers

I has a macabre thought when I woke up this morning. What if Elizabeth was something of a black widow? Not even younger Henry survived her wicked ways!

I suppose if the death certificates showed similar suspicious deaths then maybe!

Whatever happened she did seem unlucky with husbands!

Well that seems to be them... But Benjamin?! Where has THAT name come from?! I mean it must be him - named as husband AND born around 1832 in Oxton. I suppose it could be a middle name, but it's never been mentioned before!

Well done for THAT detective work! I don't know if I would have found it!!

Wow! She had a busy life! Imagine all that! Henry probably had no children but he has a lot of Step Children!

Still no sign of them both on the 1871 censuses. That seems to be the shady year!

Cheers for that research! Really interesting.

Sheffield Indexers website has

FOULDES, Elizabeth aged 80 years
Died at 40 Edgar St; Buried on October 3, 1899
Grave Number 1, Section CLASS C of St Thomas Cemetery, Brightside.

FOULDES, Henry aged 68 years
Died at 3 Ct Andrew St; Buried on September 25, 1899
Grave Number 1, Section CLASS C of St Thomas Cemetery, Brightside.

1891 census
10 Court 3 Andrew St Sheffield
Henry Fouldes 59 labourer in steel warehouse born Oxton Nottinghamshire
Elizabeth Fouldes 71 born Liverpool Lancashire

Thank you! That is great.  I did know the 1891 census details.  The only one I can find neither on is the 1871 census. It is quite strange that they both disappeared for that year. Like I said before maybe they went off on holiday during that census day. I don't know.

Also nor sure where Elizabeth is in 1891. He is still at Andrew Street but all alone! She could be back at Liverpool visiting relations I guess!

Cheers
