US Lookup Requests / Re: Help needed please

Thank you all for the help you have given in trying to find Gordon for me.
I`m sure he is still out there somewhere and I just hope I can find him before its too late.
I have now tried all the sources I can find, I have also checked the death indexes (England) ,and he
does not appear, so I`ll keep on hoping and trying.

I have checked the passenger lists also for when he was a childi  in case his mother had taken him o/seast  but againn nothing.

I would like to say that like myself, there must be many others who are grateful for all the wonderful help and advice you give in trying to help solve  the many queries posted, I think you are all wonderful giving so much time and effort to find the answers and break down so many brickwalls
so once again, many many thanks and gratitude for all the help you have given, both for this query and the many others I have posted.
No doubt over time I will be back again with more mysteries to solve, and I know you will be just as helpful once again, what would I and others do without you!

Thank you all for trying to help me in the search for Gordon.

As far as I know, he could be still living,I have checked through quite a few years  and there is nothing on the death indexes (England) so I am keeping my finger crossed for some news (hopefully!)

I have also tried searching on passenger lists, but nothing there either
I tried searching for his mother taking him o/seas when a child but again nothing.

So, I can only hope someday something may turn up!

I must say that people on here are so helpful and try their best to help so many people with their enquiries.I have had wonderful help in the past with other questions & brick walls
without people like you, it would take so much longer, and perhaps not at all, to solve the many brickwalls etc
and I`m sure that like myself many others are so grateful
for all the help and advice given.

Thank you Karen for your reply.

I, like you mentioned, just typed in his name, but I do`nt think I specified exact name. Anyway, I will today have another go and see what happens this time, doing as you suggest,

I was so hoping that it would have been him, I do`nt think his middle names are very common, so it is a good chance that it may well have been him.
I`ll have another try anyway, keeping my fingers crossed!

I mentioned Mass. because the entry on the search panel I looked at, said his name was in the Mass.City Directory, unfortunately I could not gain access to that entry because I have only Ancestry UK. To access the directory I would need to have the world one, which unfortunately I cannot afford (not on the OAP pension anyway!)

United States of America / Searching for Gordon in Mass?
« on: Tuesday 23 September 08 22:35 BST (UK)  »
I have reason to believe that my late husband`s half-brother may have emigrated to the USA
date unknown, perhaps he was taken there by his mother as a child, or went when he was an adult.

His name is GORDON GRAHAM STUART STRINGER, born Jan 1918 in Brightlingsea Essex, mother was   Blanche Stringer nee Fraser
I would love to find him or ,  his family if any, to discuss details about his mother Blanche.

I doubt if he knew he had a half-brother, my husband never knew about him.

Please please if you know about him or know anyone who knows him, please help, I would be so grateful for any information Possible he was last in Massachuttes, his name is mentioned as being there  on Ancestry. I have access to Ancestry UK, but the full information would have been on the World section, which I do not have (not able to afford that unfortunateyl, being an OAP)

Thank you in advance for any help offered, I wait in hope.

Thank you fr trying anyway, it is appreciated.

I tried the site you mentioned, but unfortunately payment is required to obtain the details, I will have to think about that, in case it is more than I can afford at present.
There were 11 entries for Gordon Stringer, but none for the middle initials,  so it could prove costly to obtain the email numbers and find that it does not refer to the one I`m searching for.

It looks like back to the drawing board once again!
He would after all be aged 90 is still living, so it may prove too late berfore I can trace him.

However, I can hope that he may have married and had a family who may contact me eventually

Soshellyesq, the entry shown just indicated Gordon`s name and that was all, stating that is was from the Mass.City Directory
I could not access any further info as I am not on the world Ancestry, only that for UK

This is very frustrating for me, I have been searchig for so many years now, and when I have at last found a reference to his name, cannot access it grrr. I just cannot afford to purchase world m/ship for Ancestry, I can just barely manage that for UK (unless the gov has a brainstorm and gives us OAPs a massive pensioni ncrease! ha ha I do`nt think

US Resources & Offers / Re: Interesting search site

If anyone has access to the mentioned site, could they please let me know if they could do a look up for me, perhaps for 1925 or 1930?

I am trying to find out if my late husband`s mother or his half-brother  could have emigrated to USA
(would they have been on these passenger lists?)
I have found the half-brother`s name listed for Massachuttes, could he have been on any of those lists?

The people concerned are

Blanche Stringer (nee Fraser  b.1892)her son Gordon Graham Stuart Stringer b.1918
most likely from Essex

Many thanks if anyone could oblige
