when I read first read it I thought Fents - both my parents were in aspects of the cotton trade so it was a word I was familiar with.

I also have been using Skype for many years - I have a son in France and one in Aus - I'm in the UK - so long phone calls are possible for free, definitely well worth it.  I have used it for 'landline calls' but since I changed my phone provider I get free call after 6:00 pm so tend to make my calle then.
I've only just got a web-cam but have talked to one of my Grandsons using it which is wonderful and I've talked to my son in Aus whilst he's had it - makes one feel chill when he's sitting there without shirt and there's snow outside here !!!

My first impression was Cartouch Maker but accept it could be Cartridge Maker.

Hi,
The web-site www.searchlabs.familysearch.org
 have a lot of Macclesfield BMD's from the 1500's onwards.
Through this site I found the grave of an ancestor buried in 1806.
