Hi

Would anybody be able to do an electorol look up for 7 Beckford Square Shoreditch for me please 1877-1880.The Surname of the family I'm hoping to find there is Aaron.I was told that Islington Library hold these records but charge £12 a time to look!

Any help would be most appreciated as I am not in the London area
 Many thanks Woobie. ;)

Hi there

Thanks for your reply,it was actually me that left the note on Freebmd, the Harry Aaron and Elizabeth Worton in Stourbridge are my GGparents but it seems that the Worton family are from Stourbridge and not Shoreditch and I am curious as to why Henry(Harry) and Elizabeth were in /Shoreditch in 1878 for my G grandmother Alice to have been born there which is why I am trying to find out about the electoral for the Beckford Address.I have a gut feeling that the Aarons are from London, the Wortons I can find on every census not a problem, but Henry Aaron is lost before 1881.

Many thanks,Woobie

Hi there

I am hoping some one can help,I am looking for help on the electoral registers for the years 1878 to early 1881(before the 1881 census as I have her living in Stourbridge then). The Surname is Aaron at 7 Beckford Square ,St Luke's,London.I am told that Finsbury is the location this would come under. My G,Grandmother was born in 1878, Birth registered in the Registration District of Shoreditch in the Sub-District of Hoxton New Town in the County of Middlesex ,her mother was stated as living at 7 Beckford Square on the birth certificate.I was hoping to find out who else was living at 7 Beckford Square in these years to see if they were in any way connected to me as the rest of my G,Grandmothers siblings seem to have been born in Worcestershire and it seems odd she was born in London ,hence my curiousness to find out maybe if her mother or father were from London.I have contacted the library in that area but as usual they charge for searching and unfortunately I do not live close enough to go there myself to look at the registers.Anyone who could help would be an angel and I would be most grateful of any info that I could gain.
Wishfully ......Woobie.

Hi Carol, many thanks for your response.I had looked at the 1881 census and found the Aarons in Stourbridge,it was the fact that my G Grandmother was born in Shoreditch in Park St and her Mother Betsy (listed on Birth certificate)as living at 7 Beckford Sq.So it seems that they were not at that address long but as I said I was curious as to why they were there in the first place seeing as the rest of the family state they were born in Stourbridge,I suppose I was hoping to find more relatives and thats the reason they were in Beckford Sq.Do you know if there are any electoral books for that period that may show 1878-1880?

Best Regards Wendy.

Hi there, new to this so looking for some help.Ive been told a story of one of my ancestors being committed to Hatton Asylum in Warwick,Im not sure how true this story is and was wondering is there any way I can see Hatton records without visiting Warwick Record Office. The girl in question was Emily Brown or Crofts,bc 1891,committed apparently because she was pregnant. All I know is that if it is true she would have been committed after 1901 (as she shows on the census age 9)and Id assume before 1910.I have also been told that she killed some one while in the asylum,I do not know what happened to the child she was carrying or any information at all.Really dont know where to start and I know it could be just a story but I feel compelled to find out what happened to Emily.Any help or suggestions would be really appreciated.

Silly me,didnt notice that I hadnt put her name,it was Alice Maud Aaron.I have her on the 1881,1891 census in Stourbridge and then on 1901 census in Nuneaton but I wanted to see if I could find any info of her being in Middlesex,as the rest of the family state they were born in Stourbridge and I am curious about the reasons etc for being in Middlesex,so from 1878 up to 1881,trying to gather as much info as possible. Many thaanks for the very quick response though, hope you can help.

I am looking for help in finding information of my G,Grandmother and family. She was born on 26 September 1878 in Shoreditch,I have her birth certificate and on it,it states that her mother Betsy Aaron was living at 7 Beckford Square Saint Lukes. Is there any way to find out who else was living there or how long they lived there or any other details,ie birth places, dates, occupations etc.Was there any sort of electorol system in place, basically any info would be of great use.
