https://www.hsj.co.uk/primary-care/exclusive-leading-regions-vaccine-supply-to-be-halved-so-others-can-catch-up/7029342.article

I thought that the goal was to vaccinate all the over 70s and others/special groups/ who wanted the vaccine by mid February.

I saw a post from one of the northern MPís that suggested our areas were getting reduced supplies. Iím not due for ages anyway, but my husband is due as an over 70 so I hope he still gets his in the correct time frame. I know itís a scarce resource, but news like this does nothing for mental health, esp when it feels like thereís a light coming sometime.

A friend of ours who is over 80 had his today at our gp hub which is three practices that have come together so that all three practices can supply staff weíre told to do the jabbing. He said it was great and it was actually his own doctor that did the jab. His is Oxford jab. We are in the North East of England,

2 new cases identified yesterday on IoM - one of them a primary-school pupil.

They attended School on Tuesday and Wednesday, and showed no symptoms of the virus, which was then identified in pre-admission screening ahead of a medical procedure.

Has anyone speculated as to how these cases occurred KG , as you said how strict your entry quarantine was for entrants or rentrants to the isle and you'd been doing so well keeping it out ?

Iíve seen online that our surgery has joined with two others and theyíre using a former gpís surgery premises in one of the areas that closed in the summer as vaccination premises. I presume that might come on stream now the Oxford vaccine is beginning to come out.
I havenít heard of anyone being called for vaccination yet , other than a relative who lives many miles away from me. As Iím in group 7, Iím not holding my breath as to when Iíd get a call to say Iím to get it.

I'm allergic to perfumes amongst other things - not seriously but enough to make life uncomfortable or worse. I carry my own sanitiiser which I use all the time. I've learnt to enter a shop and then stand to one side whilst doing my hands - unlike some others who block the doors. The smell of some of the sanitisers the few shops I've been in , set me off sneezing or coughing - last thing you want when there's covid around. My daughter says one shop the sanitiser smells like tequila, which I wouldn't know as I don't drink. I find masks helpful now as the smell of other ladies generous perfumes is muted behind the mask!
