Norfolk Lookup Requests / Re: 1851 Census Norfolk - Parnell
« on: Monday 01 April 13 10:17 BST (UK)  »
:) Thanks everyone. So it looks like Caroline parnell may be the one. Just to be sure i will just get one of the childrens birth certificates. My robert brown(e) also definately had father robert. And the cordwainer connection could also be a clue. They also moved to rossendale which is or was the shoemaking area of the northwest. Rumour had it that these Parnell's , or maybe Brown(e) were of flemish gypsy extraction, but from this i see no sign. Mentioned is a connection also to gem(jem) mace, the boxer . But perhaps everyone wants to find that connection if they live around Norfolk?
I have robert and caroline definately living in bacup, spotland in 1881, so at least that rules out that Caroline Read.
thanks again.

Hi all
I have been looking for a caroline parnell born in that area, born around 1834. I think she married \a robert brown in 1853 . I am hoping to prove that my  robert brown  married caroline parnell and not caroline read. This family moved to spotland in bacup in the 1870's but all their children seem to be born in the same area of norfolk, st martin at oak. The final child, jessie brown, was born in 1878. They married, i think, i hope, in 1853. But there is also a marriage of a robert brown to a caroline read at more or less the same time of year, so guess it could be this one too. Can anyone help?
