Can I please take you up on your Boar War look-up offer?

I know my Grandfather took part in this war, but I know nothing of the battles that he took part in, so I would be very grateful if you could supply me with any information whatever.

He was Private William Charles Thirkill, late of the Ist Battalion Grenadier Guards, I also have records of him serving in No2 Company 4th Battalion Grenadier Guards, but with him also serving in the Great War he could have been in either Battalion.

Not much to go on I know, but I hope you can come up with something.

I thank you all for spending the time to restore the photo of my Mum. All the results are wonderful, and I will now be able to print them out and treasure them.

I don't know if this photo of my Dad in the 20s is too badly creased, but could someone have a go and see what can be done?
