Length of residence in commonwealth I assume means time in Aust. This means she arrived in Aust 1840 aged 9 yrs was married in Aust 11 years later in 1851 aged 20. Has anyone found any documented proof of any of this?
Amelia had 11 children - did all survive to adulthood - highly unlikely
she obviously survived 8 of the 11. My grandmother was one, who were the rest and where were they born? 5 females have been listed in past posts - thank you
does anyone know anything about them?
Charles's Death Cert.
Death Date 3 Oct 1892
age 66 yrs
profession - Shoemaker
Usual residence Magill
Certificate is signed by Amelia Warburton - Wife.
This would mean he was born in 1825 - 6. Where? and when did he come to Aust.
I haven't any information on siblings, Kathleen and William seemed to go to Western Australia alone although one of William's sisters followed later.
I have a feeling there was a serious split in one of the families be it the Warburtons or the Lanes. As far as the family knows there was very little if any communication with the South Australian families.
We were shocked to see there were 3 surviving children after Amelia's death we were of the opinion Kathleen was an only child of an elderly couple.
If anyone has any leads could you please share?
As a post note re Egerton Warburton our family always believed the Warburtons were from Ireland and England were part of the Lee-Warburton group. There was no foundation for this belief.
