When I'd looked at NZ electoral rolls earlier, I'd found that the EDWARDS' "electoral qualification" showed "Residential" = meaning that they probably did not at that time, own the residence at which they were living.
1893/1894 - Wellington Central roll showed >
EDWARDS - Alexander Edmund* - Pirie Street - master mariner
EDWARDS - Jane, married woman, Ellice Street So there they are living presumably at different addresses ? (Incidentally, Pirie Street and Ellice Streets are in very close proximity. )
And there's Alexander - giving his second christian name as "Edmund" (again) ?
But by the 1900 electoral roll (for Wellington) he's only listed as "Alexander". Curious ?
