Maybe you are exploring the wrong DNA line Feel sure someone would be able to answer that one.

Not into DNA myself but the strong link you quote (WJB) was the grandson of Raymond Bruce who was born 4 July 1912 (can't find a UK birth for him)
Raymond married in Croydon in 1937 to Elsie Walker, both born 1912.
Raymond Bruce appears on a UK incoming passenger list 22 October 1949 departing Durban South Africa to Southampton on the Durban Castle - his address given was 56 Montacute Rd. Addington. Croydon.
Raymond's occupation was carpenter.
