Wow, Thanks Trish and looby.
Looby, That is my David and some of it I had and some I didn't but every little bit helps :)
Trish, lots of bits there, Yes David came to New Zealand about 1874 (with another wife). I found that marriage. Elizabeth Cook in 1873. They had one son here in New Zealand, William, and it is him that my husband is related too.

Thanks again,
Kim

Thank you for the quick check and link.  :)   I will check the link, Might help with other families too.

A few more names to add.
It helps when they do sensible things like maiden names.

Thanks
Kim

Hi,
I am trying to find David Pitcairn Sabiston's parents.
David was baptised 17th july1830 and came to New Zealand abt 1874.

I have names of his parents but I didn't write down where I got that info from so I can't check for more detail. I have learnt that lesson.
James Sabiston
Barbara Bews
Any further help would be very much appreciated.
Thanks Kim

Hi Mo,
Thanks for the offer of the census. I am going to the library on Friday so I will be able to find it then. At least it will give me a couple of things to look for.
Thanks
 Kim

Hi Ian,
Thank You for your time. I have not been doing this research stuff for very long but I can already see how and why people get hooked. ;D
Any thing you can find would be great.
I did find the IGI as well. You might be right about them trying to hide his birth.
Robert is my husbands gr grandfather and now even my husband is starting to show an interest. ::) He had not done so before...
Thanks again
Kim

Hi Elaine & Mo.
Thank You for your help. :)
Looks like I am going to have to get some funds together and order his birth cert.
That might be the end of my Claytons for a while.
Kim. :)

Hi Elaine.

Thank You for all your work. I have not checked the IGI yet. But I did just find that census entry yesterday at our library.(Porirua, New Zealand). Just before I was ready to leave. Didn't even have time to print it out........ :-\
Yes I do think it might be him.
In the 1891 census I think his birth place looks like Dutton.
When I do get around to ordering a cert which one am I more likely to get his parents information?
Is all the IGI microfiche on familysearch.org. or should I stick to the microfiche.

Sorry for all the questions but if I don't ask I won't find out.
Kim. :)
