Kent Lookup Requests / 1940-1950 Kelly's for Thanet/Kent pls

If anyone has access to one or all of the above Kelly's directories would you please see if there is a CHANDLER living in Approach Road, Cliftonville. The full name would be appreciated.

I don't think the Alice Weins/Ewins arriving in 1928 is the wife of Wilfred Wain.

I think the surname of Ewins on passenger list is correct.    Apart from word 'Nottingham' in the given address I think she was indeed going to Bromley, Kent.   Indexes show an Alice Ewins of right age in Bromley, Kent in 1911 and I suspect it was this lady.

Annette

Thanks for picking that Annette. It looks absolutely correct. I did wonder if her husband Arthur had died and she had been in Canada to be with a child but there are no children with them in 1911, and Arthur is still alive in 1939.

She is probably to be found on a shipping list prior to 1928 but after 1911 but I will just accept that she is not 'my' Alice and thank you for your help.

Thanks JenB for telling me how to do that. I've received an email from Sarah at RootsChat who is going to do it for me. But I didn't manage to get back to my computer yesterday so will have to crack on and reply to her.

This is the relevant thread -
Threads merged and placed on Lancashire board.

It would be better to ask to have that thread moved onto this board and merged with this one.

I will certainly do that JenB but not sure who I should ask to do that for me. Perhaps you could PM me and I will get to it tomorrow afternoon. Thanks so much.

Thank you JonW I have accessed the links you have posted and they are all the correct ones for 'my' Alice.
Must go and eat now. And then possibly to bed. Thanks for all the help.

Thanks to MCKHA489 I now know that I can't add attachments to this Forum. And I see in the Help pages that I can't add them to PMs either. So I have started a new Topic in the

RootsChat.Com England (Counties as in 1851-1901) England Lancashire (Moderators: sarah, JDGen) Bigamous marriage/divorce proceedings Lancashire WAIN v LOWE

RootsChat.Com England (Counties as in 1851-1901) England Lancashire (Moderators: sarah, JDGen) Bigamous marriage/divorce proceedings Lancashire WAIN v LOWE

Forum and added my attachments to that in the hope that I am doing this the right way. As you can see I've given 2 ways and hopefully one of them will link.

And here are the 2 censuses for Alice after Wilfred had left her and enlisted.

This topic was started and continued in the Lancashire Look-Up Requests Forum
Threads merged and placed on Lancashire board.
However, I just discovered that I can't attach files whilst on that Forum and hope that, if anyone from those pages of help would like to see the attachments, it will be OK for me to post them here. I will post a message to that effect on the Look-Up Forum.

They won't all fit on this posting so I will do a second one.

Thanks for all the help

MCKHA - thanks for that. What a blow not to be able to send attachments.
